At the AYCC, we know how important it is for families to have access to healthy, reliable food. With SNAP benefits currently paused, we want to make sure our community knows where to turn for help. Central Maine is full of caring organizations and programs ready to support individuals and families in need.
Our community partners offer some wonderful resources:
- United Way of Kennebec Valley – a list of Food Assistance Resources in Kennebec County
- United Way of Maine’s 211 Maine – a list of resources state-wide
- KVCAP – provides a variety of resources and services in our community
- AYCC’s Share A Meal Shelf – take what you need, leave what you can
- AYCC is an Open Feeding Site – youth ages 18 and under may receive a free meal or snack by visiting our Wellness Window:
- Full Meals (when school is in session) Monday-Friday from 2:30-4:00 pm
- Snacks (when school is in session) Monday-Friday from 4:00-5:00 pm
- AYCC’s free Community Holiday Dinner – Wed, Nov 13 from 4:45-7:00 pm
How You Can Help
If you’re in a position to lend a hand, local pantries and meal programs welcome donations of food, funds, or volunteer time. Together, we can make sure no neighbor goes hungry.
Food is community – and in times like these, we see how strong our community truly is. Please share this post with anyone who may need a little extra support right now.
